Prowler.io Raises $2 Million to Help AI Systems Make Smarter Choices
Prowler.io, a Cambridge, UK-based startup, is building a platform to empower autonomous systems with the ability to learn and make better decisions. Their platform utilizes reinforcement learning, a process also employed by companies like Google’s DeepMind and VocalIQ.
The company, founded by AI veterans from VocalIQ and Cambridge University, has raised £۱٫۵ million ($2 million) in seed funding from Passion Capital, Amadeus Capital, and Singapore’s Infocomm Investments. This funding will be used to continue research and development, hire new talent, and expand their platform.
Prowler.io differentiates itself by focusing on the “decision-making” side of AI, an area often overlooked in favor of perception-focused technologies like computer vision and image recognition. The company believes that “perception is a solved problem” and that the real challenge lies in creating AI systems that can make intelligent decisions in complex scenarios.
The company plans to initially target the gaming industry, where the need for more realistic and responsive characters is growing. However, their platform has broader applications in industries such as transportation, manufacturing, medicine, and hospitality.
Prowler.io’s approach aims to provide a user-friendly platform that allows developers to integrate AI decision-making capabilities into their systems through APIs and pre-made scripts.
