TVision addresses a critical gap in traditional TV viewing measurement. Unlike Nielsen, which solely relies on self-reported data, TVision employs advanced technology to accurately capture who is watching, when they are watching, and how they are reacting to the content. This granular data enables advertisers and broadcasters to make more informed decisions regarding programming and advertising strategies.

The company’s technology involves a small device that sits atop a television. This device utilizes lasers and thermal infrared to detect viewers’ emotions and reactions, even in low-light conditions. TVision’s algorithms can identify individual viewers within a group and distinguish those who are actively engaged with the TV program from those who are distracted by other devices.

Currently, TVision’s devices are installed in over 7,000 homes across the United States and Japan. The company plans to leverage the recent funding to expand its network to 15,000 homes, further enhancing the accuracy and reliability of its data.

TVision is already providing valuable data to three of the largest broadcasters in the United States and numerous major advertisers. While confidentiality agreements prevent the disclosure of specific names, the company’s impact on the TV industry is undeniable.
