Fortem Technologies Raises $5.5 Million to Counter Unwanted Drones
Fortem Technologies, a Utah-based startup, has secured $5.5 million in seed funding to develop its technology that can identify and neutralize unwanted drones. The funding was led by Signia Venture Partners and Data Collective (DCVC).
The company’s technology utilizes a compact radar system that can detect drones up to 3,000 meters away, making it possible to track and identify them even at high speeds. Fortem’s system can be integrated into drones used for security, photography, or delivery purposes, or it can be deployed on the ground to monitor a specific area.
The company’s DroneHunter UAV is designed to physically capture and neutralize smaller drones. It can track their movement, identify their type, and then net and tow them away or deploy a parachute to bring them down safely.

Fortem’s technology is designed to address the growing concern over the misuse of drones, which can be used for spying, smuggling, and even weaponization. The company’s mission is to make the skies safer and more secure for everyone.
