Landing.ai Partners with Foxconn to Bring AI to Manufacturing
Andrew Ng, known for his work on the Google Brain project and leading Baidu’s AI group, launched Landing.ai, a startup focused on bringing AI to manufacturing. Foxconn is their first strategic partner. The goal is to expand AI beyond the traditional IT world, addressing the lag in other industries. Ng believes AI and machine learning should transform all sectors, not just IT. Landing.ai is developing “AI transformation programs,” introducing new technologies, and training employees. While initially focused on manufacturing, Ng aims for broader expansion. The Foxconn partnership involves developing AI technologies, talent, and systems leveraging both companies’ strengths. Landing.ai is considered more of a consulting firm than a technology company, primarily focusing on bringing existing technologies to enterprises.
