Element AI Opens London Outpost Focused on ‘AI for Good’
Element AI, a Canadian startup that raised $102 million last year to build an incubator-meets-consultancy for AI-powered services, is expanding internationally with a new London office. The company’s focus will be on “AI for good,” collaborating with charities, NGOs, and others to leverage AI for social benefit. This initiative aims to democratize access to AI tools, ensuring they benefit a wider range of organizations beyond large corporations. Julien Cornebise, head of the London office, previously worked at DeepMind and Amnesty International, bringing valuable experience in applying AI to real-world problems, particularly in conflict resolution. The expansion highlights the UK’s growing AI ecosystem and strengthens the potential for industrial collaborations. Element AI plans to hire approximately 20 engineers and developers initially, with further global expansion planned.
