Bing Gets Smarter with AI and a New Partnership with Reddit
At a special AI-focused event in San Francisco, Microsoft announced updates to Bing search, powered by AI and a new partnership with Reddit. The updates aim to deliver more conversational and nuanced answers through a “cards” UI, similar to Google. New features include Intelligent Search, Intelligent Image Search, and Conversational Search. The goal is to enhance search interpretation using machine learning. One unique aspect is presenting multiple viewpoints on a query. Intelligent Image Search lets users search within an image, for example, finding more images of jewelry a celebrity is wearing. The Reddit partnership will integrate crowd-sourced AMAs and other posts into Bing search results. This collaboration aims to provide more detailed and localized information, and improve both platforms. While Bing’s desktop presence is significant, details on mobile integration were limited.
