Zume Pizza Uses Robots and Oven Trucks to Revolutionize Pizza Delivery
Zume Pizza is on a mission to revolutionize the pizza delivery industry. They are doing this by incorporating robots and advanced technology to enhance both speed and quality.
Zume has been gradually integrating new machines into their pizza assembly line over the last two years. Their latest addition is the “Doughbot,” which replaces the traditional dough spinner and shaves 36 seconds off the pizza-creation process. This new machine is designed to work with natural oils, eliminating the need for chemical additives often used in dough pressing.
The company is also expanding to Palo Alto, California, where they will implement a decentralized delivery model. This model involves utilizing a fleet of oven trucks and delivery scooters, allowing them to quickly react to changing demand and optimize delivery routes.

Zume’s approach contrasts with the traditional pizza delivery model, which often relies on fixed production locations and a single restaurant hub. By baking pizzas onboard their specialty trucks, Zume can move production closer to customers and adapt to fluctuations in demand.
